Talking Radio is a dynamic and ambitious business with over 30 years of experience in Radio Telephony communications training within the Aviation, Marine and Operational Industries. Our focus is on ensuring a professional radio standard is maintained for all those Operators who use mobile, or fixed two-way radios as part of their communication business model.

We also offer Consulting Services, specialising in turnkey solutions for Commercial Drone Operations.

The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) was established on the 1st April 1998 under the SAMSA Act 5 of 1998. SAMSA’s obligation is to:
– Ensure safety of life and property at sea
– Prevent and combat pollution from ships in the marine environment
– Promote the Republic’s maritime interests.

Talking Radio is a SAMSA accredited training institution in terms of Part 4, section 85 of the Merchant Shipping (Safe Manning, Training and Certification) Regulations, 2013, as amended. This accreditation allows Talking Radio to present Short Range Certificate courses to the general public or professional  mariners.

Talking Radio is proud to be an associate member of the South African Oil and Gas Alliance (SAOGA). This organisation actively works with government and parastatal entities to ensure that public policy and infrastructure supports a competitive environment for upstream and midstream suppliers. Part of the associated services which Talking Radio facilitates includes the supply of:
(a) VHF radio (Aeronautical) certification for all Helicopter Landing Officers and Radio Operators working on offshore installations.
(b) VHF radio (Short Range) certification for all applicable Marine personnel in accordance with Mariners notice no.4 of 2016.

The SAOGA organisation is the ideal platform for Talking Radio and its mission statement, backed by their interest and enthusiasm in ongoing skills development for Southern Africa, truly supports the TR ideology.
