At Talking Radio, we stand behind the quality and performance of our radio communication equipment and accessories. This Limited Warranty Policy explains your coverage against manufacturing defects and outlines the process for submitting a warranty claim.

1. Scope of Coverage

Talking Radio warrants that all new products sold through our official website are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use during the specified warranty period.

Standard Warranty Durations:

  • Radio Transceivers & Base Stations: [e.g., 12 Months / 2 Years] from the date of purchase.

Note: Products manufactured by third-party brands (e.g., Motorola, Kenwood, Baofeng, Icom) are covered under their respective original manufacturer warranties. Talking Radio will assist you in processing these claims where applicable.

2. What Is Covered

This warranty applies exclusively to defects resulting from normal operation and manufacturing errors, including:

  • Internal component failure or electronic defects not caused by user fault.

  • Transmitter/receiver performance failure under standard operating conditions.

  • Defective housing or hardware straight out of the box.

3. What Is NOT Covered (Exclusions)

This limited warranty does not cover issues resulting from misuse, neglect, or environmental factors. Exclusions include, but are not limited to:

  • Physical Damage: Drops, impacts, cracked screens, bent connectors, or crushed housings.

  • Water & Fluid Exposure: Immersion or moisture damage beyond the device's rated IP (Ingress Protection) rating.

  • Power Surges & Improper Voltage: Damage caused by reverse polarity, incorrect power supplies, or lightning strikes.

  • Unauthorized Alterations: Mods, frequency firmware hacks, internal circuit modifications, or repairs attempted by non-authorized technicians.

  • Normal Wear and Tear: Gradual capacity loss of rechargeable batteries, cosmetic scratches, or cable fraying over time.

  • External Antenna Failure: Antenna damage caused by operating at excessive RF output power (high SWR damage).

4. Warranty Remedies

If a valid claim is submitted within the applicable warranty period, Talking Radio will, at its discretion:

  1. Repair: Fix the defective hardware using new or refurbished factory parts at no cost to you.

  2. Replace: Replace the product with a brand-new or equivalent factory-refurbished unit if repair is unfeasible.

  3. Refund/Store Credit: Issue a partial or full refund if a repair or exact replacement is unavailable.

5. How to File a Warranty Claim

To initiate a warranty claim, follow these steps:

1.Gather Proof of Purchase:Prerequisite.

Locate your original Talking Radio order number, invoice, or receipt.

2.Submit a Claim Request:

  • Your Order Number.

  • Serial Number of the radio equipment.

  • A detailed description of the defect, including photos or video clips demonstrating the issue.

3.Receive Authorization (RMA):

Our technical team will evaluate your submission. If approved, we will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number and provide shipping instructions. Unsolicited returns without an RMA number will not be processed.

4.Ship the Item:

Pack the item securely in its original packaging (including power bricks, clips, and standard accessories). Write your RMA number clearly on the outside of the box.

6. Shipping Costs for Warranty Claims

  • Initial 30 Days: If a defect occurs within 30 days of delivery, Talking Radio will cover all return and replacement shipping costs via a prepaid label.

  • After 30 Days: The customer is responsible for shipping the defective unit to our service facility. Talking Radio will cover the shipping cost of returning the repaired or replacement unit back to you.
